Truly Appreciative

So usually I try to keep my posts as focused on myself and my life as I can-because that's all I really know and feel comfortable writing about. Well, I just feel the need to take a moment and this post to just say what an awesome job Hilarie Burton did on the 17th episode of One Tree Hill. She was truly outstanding. My mom watched it and the first thing out of her mouth was, "They talked to a mom before writing that." Chad did phenomenal as well, but Hilarie really showed her heart in that one. I cried every step of the way with her. Not only was I supporting Peyton whole-heartedly but her strength was outstanding and Hil really made her confusion and fight that much stronger.
I'm clearly not very good at praising people for portraying a fictional character, but to me, Hil made the whole episode all too real. I'm not a mother myself but I have had the blessing of helping to raise and watch four little boys from my church grow up and I know, without a shadow of a doubt, their mothers would have fought for them then just as fiercely as they would fight for them now. I'm not judging anyone by any means, but I just felt a connection with her drive and her stand-point.
Hilarie has been outstanding to me and my favorite actress/entrepreneur for quite a while now, and last week just helped me affirm once again, why. And just today, with her new blog entry-she was so gracious and poetic even, that it made me root for and SGP that much more. The heart there is unreal and the passion is endless. So to some, this post may seem a little awkward-it felt a little awkward writing it, but I'm not ashamed of how I feel and I am certainly not ashamed of commending such an awesome person. :)

  1. I totally agree with this one and it isn't awkward. Don't ever feel funny about posting what you feel. Share your words because I'm sure there are others who agree with them.

    Thank you for sharing.

  2. Becca, I totally agree with you and the Hilarie acting... There are few scenes in television that I will watch over and over again, and usually those are just the one liners and whatnot that I love, but a whole like 12 minutes of Hilarie and Chad, and I probably have the whole thing memorized... My new favorite quote came out of that episode, and I was BLOWN away by her acting. I was sobbing like a baby, and I keep watching it over and over... It is just a beautiful, heartbreaking scene that really captures emotion that so many are afraid of. Don't feel weird... you rock.

  3. Becca, I completely agree with you. It was definately some of Hilarie's best work. Don't ever be apprehensive about sharing what you feel! This post was not awkward, it was genuine, and filled with love. Much like Hilarie's blog post yesterday... ;)
